MUNGEAM CORNISH GOLF DESIGN was hired by the new owners of Putnam Country Club to guide the transformation of the course from a short, narrow, tree-lined facility with few bunkers and small greens to a sparsely treed and strategically bunkered course framed with fescue covered mounding. The "new" Connecticut National Golf Club is over 900 yards longer and provides numerous alternate routes of play and quirky hazards to hold players interest much like the great links of Scotland. Every hole was changed and two were completely rebuilt as part of the re-design.
